What we collect

If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide, and we retain it only as long as needed to respond and administer the program. Apart from the Google Analytics measurement described below, the site does not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. A session cookie is set when a presenter logs in to the portal or when an attendee opens a sign-in link to see their registrations.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, provided by Google, to understand how the site is used. On public pages it records the page visited (with any sign-in token, order reference or other personal value removed from the address), the referring site, campaign tags, the time, and basic browser, device and approximate-location information, and it sets first-party cookies to tell one visit from another. It also records a few site actions: viewing a session, starting or completing a registration, starting checkout and completing a payment (with the session, the amount and our order reference), adding a session to a calendar, subscribing to or confirming Trial Tips, and sending the contact form or a reader question. It never receives your name, email address, Utah Bar number, payment details, or the text of a message or question. Google signals and advertising personalisation are turned off.

Google Analytics does not run on sign-in, account, newsletter-preference or administration pages, or when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. You can also opt out with Google’s opt-out browser add-on; Google describes how it uses this information at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. We do not sell visitor information, and apart from the Google Analytics measurement described on this page we do not share it.

Registration

Registration for CLE sessions is handled by Litigation 101 on this site. When you register we collect your name, email address, and — where you are claiming Utah CLE credit — your Utah Bar number, so that we can confirm your place, give you access to the session, and report your attendance to the Utah MCLE Board.

Card details are entered on Stripe’s own hosted payment page and are never received, processed, or stored by Litigation 101. We retain a payment reference, the amount, and the status so we can issue receipts and process refunds.

We keep registration, attendance, and payment records for as long as we are required to substantiate CLE credit and to meet our financial record-keeping obligations. Registering for a session does not subscribe you to our newsletter; that is a separate, optional choice you make yourself.

Presenter accounts

The private scheduling portal stores presenter login credentials (passwords are stored only as salted hashes), availability calendars, proposed and confirmed session information, and an activity log. This information is used solely to plan the CLE schedule and is never displayed publicly.

Security and retention

Connections are encrypted in production, portal access is limited to invited accounts, and the database is backed up periodically. Contact-form messages and logs are purged periodically. To ask about or request deletion of information you submitted, use the contact form.
